If you don't know how to speak Chinese, you definitely will get lost 'cause most road signs are in the native language, and even those signs/warnings painted on the pavement are in Chinese. It is definitely an interesting city, however, you will need more than five days to visit the best tourist attractions of Beijing. I wanted to go to the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, and the Beijing Zoo to see the pandas, but didn't have the time anymore. However, along the way, we met a series of unfortunate events. To cut the long story short, a typhoon had hit the towns of Pangasinan, Baguio, and La Union, we got stranded in Pulilan, Bulacan for 8 hours due to car trouble, we were not able to go to Manaoag, we were able to go to Baguio but also got stuck in the cottages, and had to extend our stay as the roads were unsafe on the day that we planned to go back to Manila. Despite all the trouble we had been through, we still had a great time. Here are pictures taken from our trip, most of which were taken in our cottage. Last April 29, we head off for a much needed break to Pagudpud. This is my fourth trip to Pagudpud. The last time I was in Pagudpud in 2003, there were only 2 beach resorts and the blue lagoon was not yet developed. I was surprised to see that a lot of resorts have sprouted in the shores of Pagudpud after 5 years. Although we had a very long commute from Manila to Ilocos, it was well worth it. One of the highlights of our trip was the opportunity to learn how to surf. As I was on my way to Macau, the rain was already pouring hard and the current was a bit strong. My first stop when I arrived at the Ferry Terminal of Macau was MGM Grand. After trying my luck at the slot machines, I started plotting the places that I want to see on the map. But when I went out of the hotel, the winds were already strong and the rain was still pouring heavily. I hailed a cab to go to Senado Square, but since there was heavy rain, I couldn't really explore the place so I just took a few pictures. As I was having lunch, I was informed by one of the waiters at the restaurant that ferry services were suspended and that typhoon signal number 8 (signal no. 2 in Manila) has hit Macau and Hong Kong. I hurriedly finished my lunch and decided to just go back to the ferry terminal so that I could take the first ferry back to Hong Kong when they resume operations. In March, our theme was Fire Friday, in line with the Fire Prevention Month. Employees came in as firefighters, volunteers, reporters, victims, and even some who came in as firecrackers and Guitar matches. I decided to attend my first theme day as Hell Boy. Because I didn't have much time to prepare for it, I went ahead and painted my face, neck and arms red, and made cut horns out of papier mache.
