I have been longing to go to Macau, and just when I got the chance, bad luck struck really hard. As I was on my way to Macau, the rain was already pouring hard and the current was a bit strong. My first stop when I arrived at the Ferry Terminal of Macau was MGM Grand. After trying my luck at the slot machines, I started plotting the places that I want to see on the map. But when I went out of the hotel, the winds were already strong and the rain was still pouring heavily. I hailed a cab to go to Senado Square, but since there was heavy rain, I couldn't really explore the place so I just took a few pictures. As I was having lunch, I was informed by one of the waiters at the restaurant that ferry services were suspended and that typhoon signal number 8 (signal no. 2 in Manila) has hit Macau and Hong Kong. I hurriedly finished my lunch and decided to just go back to the ferry terminal so that I could take the first ferry back to Hong Kong when they resume operations. It was so difficult to get a cab. At 3:30pm, I was finally able to get a cab and arrived at the terminal at around 3:45pm. Ferry services resumed at 9pm. At around 10:20pm, I was finally back in Hong Kong and was already starving to death. I sure wish I just checked in at a hotel in Macau because it was already sunny the next day. Looking at the brighter side, my main purpose of going to Macau anyway was to reset my allowable length of stay in Hong Kong. I was only permitted by Hong Kong immigration to stay for 14 days and I was booked to stay for 16 days. Going to Macau solved that problem. And yeah, I also won at the slots in MGM Grand. Medyo small time but it wasn't bad at all.
